Kickstarting bright ideas
Growing up, Ayman Karmi didn’t have access to musical instruments, but he was able to merge his materials engineering major and passion for music to innovate for a better world. Along with other students and faculty collaborators, he is part of a team recycling discarded plastics from local schools into 3D printing filament used to print musical instruments or vital parts like drumheads or mouthpieces for saxophones for students who need them.
